What’s in the kit
- Coreless digital servo
- Brackets and hardware
- 130 lb braid (preferred over steel)
- Servo horn that converts to a spool
- Replacement accelerator lever (no side thumb)
Tools
- 10 mm (an extension is handy)
- Phillips
- Scissors
- Optional: 4 mm socket to punch out the white/plastic clip
Why the accelerator lever is replaced
The OEM lever has a thumb that prevents actuating the throttle independent of the T-handle or remote. The kit lever removes that thumb so the servo can move throttle on its own.
Step 1: Replace the accelerator lever
- Flip the white clip and drop the push rod.
- Use a 4 mm socket on the backside of the white part to pop it out.
- Save the OEM lever.
- Install the kit lever.
- Reinstall the push rod and clip.
- Verify the throttle can move independently of the T-handle or remote.
Step 2: Mount the base bracket
The kit includes a bolt for the base bracket. Nudge the bracket angle so the servo can sit next to the flywheel plastic.
Step 3: Loop the braid on the throttle body
- Loop the braid on the throttle body (any loop knot).
- Run it under the tube and through the eyelet.
Step 4: Assemble the spool horn
- Feed the braid inside-out through a hole in the round horn.
- Tie a bulky knot.
- Clip on the backing plate / spool adapter.
- Wind the braid close, not super snug.
- Press the horn onto the servo.
- Install the black retaining screw.
Step 5: Leave tension for calibration
Do not finish tension now. Calibration is later, and you will pull the horn off again during TCM calibration. Continue with the TCM Installation Guide.
